Sudden Impact is in its 20th year of existence as a competing show choir. The group is one of five choral ensembles at Ottumwa High School. It is made up of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students that rehearse outside of the school day. Over the years the group has received many awards including being named Grand Champion at the 2022 Quincy Show Choir Invitational. This year Sudden Impact will be competing at the Keokuk Show Choir Invitational, Indianola Show Choir Invitational, Central Lee Show Choir Invitational and Battle, Mo Show Choir Invitational They are directed by Dennis and Melissa Vasconez and choreographed by Mike Weaver.
